The heart of my photography is the people, and the honest interactions I capture. Years in the future, I want people to look at my photos and really feel like they know something about the subjects - not just what they looked like, but what they were like.
At weddings, aside from any traditional formal shots you may request, I do not pose you or your guests but simply allow everyone to enjoy themselves. When you look at the pictures of your wedding, you will see the fun you had, not the forced smiles you may see in the work of other photographers.
I love working with people who are a little bit nervous about having their pictures taken - if you are camera shy, think you are not photogenic, or just remember how boring the portraits at other weddings were, I can't wait to change your mind! I think photography should be fun, memorable, and beautiful - not intimidating and stiff. If this is a sentiment you share, and you like my work, give me a call. I look forward to meeting you!
I've been a full-time photographer since 2004, specializing in weddings and family portraits. I currently live in beautiful Pasadena, and on July 3rd, 2005 I was married to my wonderful husband Andrew at a vineyard in Temecula - so I know all about the excitement and stress of planning a wedding!

I shoot using high-quality digital cameras, because these allow me to be more flexible and creative with your wedding photography, while preserving the quality and durability of film. But please - don't pick your photographer based on whether they shoot film or digital! Pick someone whose work makes you feel good, let us worry about what medium to shoot in.
I am always the primary photographer at every wedding I book. I will never contract your wedding out to another photographer. I do have a second photographer who shoots in a very compatible style with my own and is available for larger weddings or more detailed coverage.
Yes, absolutely. I am completely supportive of the gay and lesbian community and thrilled to be able to give them the same fantastic memories of their day that I give everyone else.
Of course! With the exception of the photo of me on my 'About' page, which was taken by the lovely and talented Brienne Shepard, every single photo on this site was taken by Jessica Verma, detail shots and all.
No. If you hire me for your wedding day, I devote that day exclusively to your wedding. I believe that focusing on one wedding or event at a time is very important so I can immerse myself in the process of telling your story with pictures.
I really try to blend in as much as possible with the crowd of your wedding. For this reason I generally use a lightweight camera and reserve flash and bulky equipment only for conditions when it is absolutely necessary, so you and your guests can remain comfortable and focused on the wedding. Occasionally, I will use a tripod and a small flash for indoor or nighttime photos.
Absolutely! Just give me a call for more information, I love to travel!
